Description
Compostable pouches are made from eco-friendly materials that can naturally break down and decompose, leaving no harmful residues behind. These pouches are designed to minimise environmental impact and reduce plastic waste. Here’s a brief description of the materials typically used in compostable pouches:
Biodegradable Films: Compostable pouches are often constructed using biodegradable films made from various renewable resources. Common materials include cornstarch, sugarcane, potato starch, or even algae-based biopolymers. These materials are chosen for their ability to break down into natural compounds when subjected to the right conditions.
Polylactic Acid (PLA): PLA is a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from renewable resources like corn or sugarcane. It is commonly used to create the transparent windows on compostable pouches. PLA is compostable under industrial composting conditions.
Paper: Some compostable pouches incorporate paper as a component. The paper can be sourced from sustainably managed forests and is typically certified by relevant organisations. The paper adds strength and a natural texture to the pouch.

Quick delivery – easy to re order – Amazing bags, I use them to pack 385gm of lentils and flour mixes, which easily fit in this bag. Zip lock makes packing easy, there is extra head room if you want to heat seal as well.

These are really great. I trialled them for an experiment, and I will continue to use them. I find that even though they do hold the prescribed amount of coffee mentioned, they crinkle up, and really need the heat-sealer at the top to ensure they don’t bust open in the mail.
I also deal in tea – they do not hold as much tea as they do for coffee.
If you’re sending these to humid parts of Australia, it would be a good idea to include a tiny desiccant pack in the pack for the customer to ensure continuing freshness.
